Blue Yota Adventure Patreon announcement

The Short Version

I now have a Patreon page. If you enjoy the trip reports, gear guides, and videos and want to throw a few bucks my way, you can do that. If you don't, nothing changes — I'm going to keep doing this regardless.

Why Patreon?

Running Blue Yota Adventure isn't free. Between gas, gear, permits, campsite fees, and the occasional trailside burrito that keeps morale alive, the costs add up. That's before factoring in the time spent writing posts, editing photos, cutting video, and keeping the site running. None of that has ever stopped me from getting out there, and it won't — but if people want to chip in, I figured I should make that easy.

Patreon felt like the right fit because it's simple and straightforward. There's no merch store, no gated paywall, no algorithms to chase. Just a way for people who get something out of this content to support it directly.

What You Get

There's one tier: Buy Me a Cup of Coffee at $5/month. (Whether that actually buys a cup of coffee anymore is debatable, but the spirit is there.)

That gets you:

  • Early access to new posts and videos before they go live on the site
  • Exclusive content that won't be published anywhere else
  • Fan requests — have input on where I go, what I cover, or what gear gets reviewed
  • Live chat to talk adventures, gear, routes, or whatever else

Beyond the listed perks, supporting on Patreon means you're directly helping keep this content independent and real. No sponsors telling me what to say about a product. No pressure to post content I don't believe in. Every trip report, gear review, and trail condition update on this site comes from actual time spent out there — and your support helps keep it that way.

The Part Where I Say You Don't Have To

I want to be clear: you should only contribute if it's within your means and you genuinely enjoy the content. I don't want anyone stretching their budget over this. The entire Blue Yota Adventure library — every trip report, every gear guide, every video — is free and will stay free. Patreon is there for people who want to go a step further, not a requirement for anything.

If all you ever do is read the posts, use the info to plan your own adventures, and get outside more because of something you found here — that's the whole point. That's enough.

Thanks Either Way

Whether you sign up, share a post with a friend, or just keep reading — I appreciate it. The fact that anyone out there finds this stuff useful is what keeps me writing it.

See you out there.
